For the desktop-profile stage3d ... 1) Normal stage[123] should not be affected since they do not contain freetype. 2) freetype[harfbuzz] is *NOT* enabled by default in the desktop profile (so that people can build freetype), but it is *required* to actually emerge @world there (required in the whole deptree). 3) freetype[harfbuzz] has a circular dependency with harfbuzz. :( I assume that portage will be able to sort it out once we have a corresponding binary package available.
